Care and rehabilitation of sick and injured hedgehogs in Shelley, West Yorkshire
Welcome to the Shelley Hedgehogs website!
My name is Mel Fitton and you can find me in the village of Shelley, West Yorkshire, where both myself and a small number of fabulous volunteers are dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of sick and injured hedgehogs.
Please have a look at some of the hedgehogs that we have helped over the past couple of years and maybe see how you could support us... Thank you for visiting our website.
I have always had a love of wildlife and in particular, hedgehogs. After volunteering and training at Meltham Wildlife Rescue (MWR) and with their guidance and support, in 2019, I set up Shelley Hedgehogs to help hedgehogs in and around the local community.
I have a fabulous team of volunteers who help at the rescue and I work closely with a local vet.
We are completely funded by our kind supporters.
As well as donations, to pay for food, medication and the ongoing costs of the rescue, we are always in need of newspapers, which we use for bedding, clean towels, meat based cat food (in jelly) and the hedgehogs favourite - Purina One kitten biscuits
We are very grateful for any support you can give.
Your support and contributions will enable us to care for more sick and injured hedgehogs, like Mopsey here, who is blind and had radial paralysis of her front leg.

By donating £10, you will feed a hedgehog for a month...
